Review
"We highly recommend this book and plan to make it a list that we'll explore in the years ahead." -- Boston Zest, April 2012
"Local author Lynn Schweikart culled together 121 spots around town. The guidebook is divided into categories based on your definition of peaceful, whether you're seeking a quiet reading room or a kooky art gallery. Best of all, most locations are free!" -- Metro Boston, November 2011

About the author

For nearly 40 years, Pennsylvania native Lynn Schweikart has nurtured an unabashed love affair with her adopted city of Boston. She loves wandering around its varied neighborhoods, returning to favorite haunts, and discovering new places.
A marketing communications specialist, writer, and brand storyteller, Lynn has worked on high-profile accounts across a range of industries. She has been the recipient of numerous national and regional advertising creative awards. She also writes the blogs, Savoring the Seasons and Peaceful Places Boston.
As someone who has spent her career in the high-pressure, fast-paced advertising world, Lynn recognizes the restorative power of that comes from moments of peacefulness and serenity. She enjoys travel, cooking, music, birdwatching, storytelling, kayaking, cheering on the Red Sox, and singing with the women’s chorus Voices From The Heart. She’s particularly fond of relaxing with her journal, camera, watercolors, and binoculars amid the marshes near Plum Island Sound-m-off the northeast coast of Massachusetts.
Lynn holds a B. A. in sociology from Northwestern University. She divides her time between her homes in Boston and on the New Hampshire seacoast.
